About Ben Blink
I am the the principal of Blink Public Policy, LLC. I work with companies and non-profit organizations to improve broadband connectivity, spur economic development, build transportation and energy infrastructure, and solve other problems at the intersection of technology and government. Prior to my consulting work, I served as a policy advisor to Arizona Governor Doug Ducey to develop and implement his policy agenda related to transportation, economic affairs, automated vehicles, broadband internet development, government technology, and public-private partnerships. During my time with Governor Ducey he developed and signed precedent-setting legislation that memorializes the safe testing and commercialization of automated passenger and commercial vehicles. He also championed and signed legislation that opens state highways to commercial broadband development and invested in broadband conduit along key routes. During the COVID-19 pandemic my work focused on developing and implementing more than $200 million in small business economic recovery programs as well as the development of executive orders and legislation that accelerated Arizona's economic recovery. I also served as a senior budget analyst at the Arizona Governor's Office of Strategic Planning and Budgeting. My work focused on developing the state's operating and capital budgets for transportation, telecommunications infrastructure, and public safety.Prior to my time in Government, I spent five years working on the business and public policy teams at Google, where I helped found its free expression and international relations team. I built partnerships to combat Internet censorship and filtering around the globe. My policy and strategy work included a broad portfolio including freedom of expression, human rights, trade, and Internet governance. I represented Google at the Global Network Initiative -- a coalition of companies, human rights groups, investors, and academics that develops best practices for respecting human rights in the Internet and communications sector.I received my bachelor's degree from Carleton College and master's of public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School
