Led Intuit's microservices transformation by building and operating a Secure Communications infrastructure. This tier-0 platform processes over 10 billion transactions daily and millions of requests per second, while maintaining strict SLAs of single-digit milliseconds. We provide observability, rate-limiting, authorization, and other features for internal RPC and public-facing APIs in a highly multi-tenant and fault isolated infrastructure. Under my leadership, this platform scaled over 100% every year. Additionally, we are innovating and generating intellectual property for Intuit. I manage the team developing Admiral, a new open-source offering that works with Istio to build a single multi-cluster Service Mesh that spans hundreds of Kubernetes clusters. We have also built a neural-network based anomaly detection system that allows us to identify service runtime issues in our highly multi-tenant environment. Several of these innovations have resulted in US Patents.

Joined a team seeded with 3 people, and created a platform that provided end-to-end capabilities powering everything in the core Trips domain, growing the team to 14 engineers in 10 months. As you can imagine, Trips are a fundamental data model at Uber, and our team was responsible for storing, indexing, and retrieving every trip taken through Uber. Furthermore, we powered Uber’s business engine, orchestrating processes that drive Uber’s experience, such as billing, receipts, payments, notifications, and historical record keeping. This 0->1 program scaled from 0 to 150K TPS in 10 months as it became the single source of truth for Trips data at Uber.* Storing massive amounts of data, while still having it available for real-time query.* Building highly available services that serve hundreds of thousands of QPS, and making them faster.* Modeling our data to support Uber’s expansion into new business verticals.* Building tools, APIs, and dashboards for monitoring, validation, and anomaly detection.* Decomposing "the API" - Uber's legacy python monolith.

This project involved more than 10 people across several months and was hi5's flagship project for GDC Austin 2010 and GDC.Technical lead and primary technical contributor for hi5 virtual goods store redesign and re-architecture. While rebuilding hi5's gift store, we designed and implemented an extensible framework for representing and displaying virtual goods on hi5. At the same time, we made improvements in data integrity and administration tools.Technical lead and sole technical contributor for hi5 mobile application. Reintegrated divergent codebase into mainline web codebase to alleviate a maintenance burden and improve long-term scalability. Also increased mobile ad revenue 300% in the time on the project. Created a training program specifically targeted to college hires. Chose the topics, planned the schedule, recruited lecturers, and planned my own presentations, without any interruption to primary job responsibilities.
