As the Head of Cyber Education at Work ED, my mission is to bridge the gap between academic learning and the practical demands of the cybersecurity industry. With experience as a Senior Vulnerability Analyst at Oracle and a Cybersecurity Teacher in the Canyons School District, I bring industry expertise and a passion for education. As a Mentor for the U.S. Cyber Games and a Trace Labs Search Party CTF Coach, I help shape the next generation of cyber defenders. The Trace Labs initiative accelerates the family reunification of missing persons while training members in open-source intelligence (OSINT).At Work ED, I ensure our curriculum is theoretically sound and practically relevant, preparing students for real-world challenges. I advocate for comprehensive student success pathways in cybersecurity, foster industry partnerships, and emphasize hands-on experience and continuous learning. In addition, I have authored the book "Teaching Cyber: Building the Bridge Between Education and Industry," aimed at helping educators connect academic learning with industry needs.Guided by my mantra, "Learn once, apply many times," my vision is to nurture skilled, knowledgeable, and ethically grounded cyber defenders who will protect our digital future.
