About Ben Derochie
After working in the North through various public advocacy positions, I am dedicated towards contributing to the future growth and development of Canada’s north. I am currently a Senior Energy Planner with the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources and completed my Masters of Arts in Sustainable Energy Policy at Carleton University. Prior to this, I have helped organize conferences, manage public education facilities, and supervise outreach programs for non-government organizations. Understanding the unique and exceptional nature of Canada’s north, I am eager to help governments, companies, and municipalities address future challenges they may face.Specialties: northern research, public policy, project coordination, life-cycle cost analysis, cost-benefit analysis, policy analysis, assessing socio-technical elements of energy production in remote communities, and conference planning.
