Ben created Homes and Hedges with a vision of creating environments people love to be in, from the home they live in, to their place of work. From starting out as an apprentice in the maintenance department of Sydney Buses, to working in debt recovery for Commonwealth Bank, Ben decided he wanted to help people nurture their homes and workplaces, not take them away.Since founding the business in 2020, Ben has built Homes and Hedges into a team of 50 people, working across the spectrum of residential and commercial home, garden and grounds maintenance with organisations including NDIS, Anglicare, private homeowners and commercial entities.Ben’s entry into business was something of a revelation. He got his start by responding to an AirTasker job while sitting in a café looking for ways to supplement his income. He did his first job using his Dad’s equipment and after 12 months found there was a such strong demand for his services, he left the bank and threw himself into growing the business.Ben and his team have a strong value-oriented culture and pride themselves on being reliable and dependable, ensuring customers can count on them to get the job done and to do it well. He finds great joy in helping people access their spaces again, particularly those associated with NDIS, some of whom have been unable to go outside due to garden overgrowth and maintenance issues.
