As a member of the Met Office GIS team my responsibilities were chiefly centred around developing and managing geospatial solutions within the organisation. My tasks included the deployment and administration of the Met Office ArcGIS Enterprise environment, development of geospatial application and dashboards, and assisting with GIS analysis of internal research, observation and forecasting projects.

As an intern working in a research project to develop a disease forecast model which predicts when the cost of controlling Z. tritici in winter wheat becomes approximately equivalent to the monetary loss the disease causes my responsibility were to validate and visualise the accuracy of the model using a time series animation.My tasks included: Visual disease assessment through weekly field work, weather data processing and correction, external and internal validation of model, interpolation of model output, designing a time-series animation to visualize spatial-temporal patterns
