During my time as an information technology support engineer at the Volta River Authority (VRA), Akosombo - Ghana, I found that customers of VRA who use the company's utility services (Power and Water supply) must always move to the front desk of VRA's offices, to request for new water and power supply services, make complaints or receive relevant updates about their tariffs. I decided to pitch to the directors on building VRA's first client facing application, the Volta River Authority Client Service Application (VCSA) Suite. I idea was supported and after 1.5 years, the VCSA mobile application was launched (exclusively to Akosombo community and its environs) for customers to make complaints, request and to communicate directly to VRA on any related issue.During the year and a half, myself, a friend and my brother who joined me in building the application, studied carefully how the existing systems work for customer service response and delivery. We identified the common issues complained my customers and studied their resolution approaches, which afterwards we designed and built a solution to make the processes more efficient. Some enhancement make where:1. Introduction of an in app incident specific tracking system to help customers appreciate the processes that their request or complaint made, with notification systems along the way to enhance transparency and improve customer satisfaction.2. Introduction of the customer service chat feature which delivery 24/7 live chat option to users to reach VRA about any issues they might be facing. For this feature to be fully realized, an admin mobile application was developed with the desktop application to allow staff respond to client issues wherever, whenever.3. Emergency Broadcast and notification features for VRA to quickly notify it's customers in emergency situations.VRA is currently testing the efficacy of the application in specific regions and is set the for a public launch soon.

I also manage third-party partnerships, ensuring we meet industry standards while maintaining high-performance infrastructure.I lead the engineering team in translating business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring our app delivers seamless savings and investment experiences. I oversee the development, deployment, and maintenance of Phundit’s mobile app and tech products to ensure usability, security, and reliability.Innovation is central to my role. I constantly seek new ways to build or improve systems, through cutting-edge technology or strategic partnerships that drive innovation and optimize processes.Compliance with financial regulations, security protocols, and data privacy standards set by the Bank of Ghana, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and other regulatory bodies is another key part of my role. I also manage risk by identifying potential issues such as system downtime or data breaches and developing strategies to mitigate them.Beyond technology, I foster a collaborative environment within my engineering team, encouraging creativity and innovation to bring new ideas that push Phundit forward.
