Topic to be studied is grinding of silicon for use in various applications. This Ph.D. study is a collaboration between the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and Elkem AS.

R&D, project and process work related to the direct process - the first step in the silicone production.

Stationed at the R&D department in the Elkem Silicon Material division, located at Fossegrenda in Trondheim. Involved in both R&D and project work related to the direct process - the first step in the silicone production.

Responsible for improvement project related to the refining process of silicon at the Elkem silicon melting plant at Thamshavn. The work mainly consisted of analysis of silicon materials. Additionally, partly involved in the daily follow up of the post tap hole operations, included in this work was the use of tools included in our Elkem business system (Lean related) to improve the refining process.

Course TMT4112 General Chemistry

Worked in the Electrochemical Energy Storage group doing research on lithium-air batteries. Included in this work were carbon electrode preparation, cell assembly, electrochemical tests and post-mortem analysis of cycled electrodes (including some analyisis with SEM, and ATR- and transmission FTIR).
