What is the role of dance in the 21st century?How can dance help to build a healthy society?How does dance help us understand the world around us and ourselves?How will dance evolves in 20 years? What skills, knowledge and experiences will best enable a dance artist to thrive in years to come?I am all too aware of the many different and difficult choices with which young artist and practitioner have to face. In today’s climate, the arts are often overlooked as viable career paths. But in reality, the arts are more vibrant and integral to society today than ever before. Today’s job market requires creativity, problem solving, communication, teamwork and confidence. Today’s world requires commitment, passion and a depth of understanding that the digital age often overlooks. Today’s society needs individuals who know how to express what cannot be said. The arts teach the skills and provide training that prepare you for life in a way that you may not have even realised yet.Believing that arts grow from culture and vice versa, I see our world as the interwoven foundation from which many artists draw their inspiration. Our society therefore refers to the natural vastness of the culture and the arts as understood and expressed by the audience and artists, whereby they feel a nourishing community gathered under the same roof. Dance- the arts itself, enable us to find it own unique role within the rapidly changing and expanding horizons of dance culture.With our devotion to the development and artistic viability for dance, lets embrace the spirit that foster creativity and vitality, the ideals of creating competent and talented young artists who can deliver positive changes to our world.
