As the lead policy and political strategist, I oversee legislative and regulatory work and manage a team of eight FTEs that implement climate programs in underserved communities. Together, we’ve won victories in renewable energy, climate resiliency, and environmental justice, including: Drafted Senate Bill 1230 (Limón) and led the successful campaign for its enactment, securing 100+ organizational endorsements, eight senate co-authors, and Governor Newsom’s signature; Built an alliance of 32 labor, climate, and environmental justice organizations working to strengthen standards at regional clean energy agencies; Hosted a regional climate policy summit that convened elected officials, government staff, and stakeholders from 29 local jurisdictions; and Co-led development of a climate resiliency initiative with the San Benito Health Foundation that made it the state’s first healthcare facility powered by a solar microgrid.

As a member of the executive team, I provide strategic guidance across a range of areas and have helped grow the Romero Institute from a small, regional nonprofit into a mid-sized organization with a national presence. Highlights include: Instituting a data-driven, digital-first approach that opened new funding streams and doubled annual revenue; Designing and guiding an online strategy that grew a base of more than 500k social media followers, 100k email subscribers, and 15k donors; Professionalizing the organization's HR policies and recruitment/retention strategies.

Served as the association's representative for RNs at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and as the lead negotiator for collective bargaining agreements at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital. Secured standard-setting contracts for RNS and newly organized midwives, with significant staffing, wages, and benefits gains. Led delegations of nurses to lobby local, state, and federal officials in support of legislative and regulatory priorities

Directed overhaul of internal and external digital platforms, including designing and launching an award-winning website (www.lakotalaw.org). Helped organize a multi-day policy summit on Indian child welfare between Lakota tribes and the Department of the Interior

Oversaw all direct voter contact and managed a team of six organizers, 24 interns, and 150 volunteers. Managed GOTV activities for the coordinated Democratic Congressional campaigns, which employed more than 500 paid canvassers.
