The Automation Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting manufacturing automation solutions. The key responsibility of this position is to support the development of solutions for product assembly and implement enhancements to existing manufacturing systems. Skills I will be using/developing are: Machine design, machine fixture design, CAM driven machines, pneumatic actuators, servos, stepper motors, EFD dispensing valves, vision systems, sensors, sonic welding, pick-and-place mechanisms, pad printing, electrical test instruments, air-leak testers, PLC programming troubleshooting, machining, and Solidworks.

As a member of the Improvement Engineering team, I have key roles in driving continuous improvement throughout the ARUP enterprise. Our team is responsible for helping each department adopt a culture of lean through trainings and carrying to fruition improvement projects. I have been able to prepare and deliver trainings on value stream mapping, standard work, applying lean in the work place, and scheduling/load leveling. Within the scope of my duties I:• Perform data analysis using Excel in order to guide decisions for continual improvements.• Use SolidWorks to design custom parts and assemblies.• Map processes (current state and future state) to identify and facilitate process improvements.• Create AutoCAD drawings designed through collaboration with labs and facilities to optimize space and work flow. Provided consulting with MED-C in order to provide a cost analysis for the ineffectual cancer treatments in the United States. Conducted second hand research in order to collect credible data. Organized data in excel spreadsheets that provided significant figures related to the case. Worked with the customer in order to determine and develop the final product they required.

Worked with a team of engineers on various projects to improve manufacturing processes and controls. Used LEAN tools and statistical data analysis to improve flow and handling of raw materials throughout the manufacturing processes. Redesigned components used to reduce risk of contamination of products. Ran extensive testing on vendor materials in order to provide detailed specifications to vendors and improve the quality of the product. Performed vendor selection for various equipment and materials. Collected and analyzed data in order to improve KPI's. Reengineered a line to improve throughput and reduce man hours.
