- Built a high-performing, well-respected, global risk management team through coaching, professional development, and targeted training programs.- Developed, implemented, and managed a Risk and Control Assessment framework and methodology across the Schroders Asset Management business, covering with approx. GBP 750bn of assets under management. The business was divided over 200 business areas globally, from profit generating teams to back office and support teams. Each business area understood the risks they faced significantly better, and how to mitigate these risks. As a result, the firm was able to grow significantly and not increase the level of errors that lost money, clients or have unfavourable impacts with regulators. -Managed the firm-wide process to understand and learn from errors that did occur across the Schroders Group. As the business grew, the proportion of errors and their monetary impact decreased. -Established a robust process to determine the level of financial capital Schroders was required to hold to cover operational risks, including scenario development, modelling of risk capital estimates, and the presentation of results to senior management. -Developed management information on operational risks to senior management, legal entity boards, and risk and operating committees. This enabled entity directors and the executive management team to review where their risks were, what errors had happened and track enhancements. - Produced and presented quality written reports for senior management on operational risk matters, which enhanced the standing of the function within the organisation. Drafted key sections on operational risk management for Schroders Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures and Climate Disclosure Project (CDP), contributing to an excellent external rating for the latter.
