A future educator committed to inspiring lifelong learners. I am a graduate student at Wake Forest University, who plans on returning to Michigan upon graduation. As a member of the Master of Educational Studies program, I have had opportunities to enhance my teaching practice; expanding on the skills and knowledge I took away from my student teaching experience and undergraduate coursework at the University of Michigan. Throughout my life, both of my parents have worked in schools. From their stories and the visits I have taken with them, I witnessed the commitment excellent teachers have towards nurturing and pushing their students to learn and become better people.My interest in education evolved into a passion after spending my first college summer at an overnight camp. The exciting moments when children lit up with understanding, or achieved a new accomplishment at camp were incredibly rewarding to me. In moments like these, I saw the important role a teacher could play- as a facilitator who leads their students to learning opportunities. Currently, I am working with middle and elementary science teachers in Winston-Salem, NC to conduct educational research. Additionally, as a teaching assistant, I am teaching, helping design curriculum, and re-adapting online lessons for Wake Forest undergraduate students.
