I support Intelsat's Commercial Aviation business (formerly Gogo), the world's leading provider of inflight broadband WiFi connectivity to the commercial aviation industry, which became part of Intelsat in December 2020. I am the primary attorney supporting Commercial Aviation generally and negotiate sales contracts with our airline customers and procurement contracts with our equipment and service suppliers.More broadly across Intelsat, I develop and implement compliance strategy on data privacy, security, and end-user issues. I negotiate contracts and transactions across Intelsat's core business relating to its global geosynchronous satellite network and the use of Intelsat and third party teleports (satellite ground stations). Additionally, I manage innovation and intellectual property developed internally and with our strategic partners.

I provide global legal support for third party transactions, including software, technology, cloud computing, and license and audit agreements for our Global Information Systems group; digital marketing, advertising, and consumer data analytics for our Marketing group; technical and financial integrations for our Direct to Consumer group; employee services for HR; indirect procurement for Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul, Supply Chain, Engineering, Sustainability, Finance, Travel and Legal; direct procurement for Finished Product Sourcing; management of distressed direct suppliers; and joint development agreements for Engineering and IP. I lead technology assessment and diligence for the Mergers and Acquisitions team, including divestments and purchases of technology solutions and companies providing the same. I also lead global support for privacy and security risks with third parties and technical and contractual compliance with global privacy laws for Whirlpool's Privacy Center of Excellence.

I provide global strategic legal advice on portfolio acquisition, licensing and management, enforcement, and transactions involving patents and intellectual property for Refrigeration, Air and Water Products, Small Appliances, and Chemistry & Materials and forward-looking Advanced Engineering projects. I structure and negotiate agreements relating to connectivity and the Internet of Things, Software as a Service, and Information Technology infrastructure, asset management, auditing, and any technology managed by our Global Information Systems group. I handle M&A and related due diligence for medium to small scale ($5M) technology acquisitions, sales, and licenses. I work with universities and our Global Innovation team to identify research partnership opportunities in connectivity and other spaces.I strive to create demand and earn trust every day for the patent legal team and to ensure that my advice, work product, and comportment reflects the Whirlpool values of respect, integrity, diversity and inclusion, teamwork, and the spirit of winning.

Universities must increasingly rely on corporate and other non-federal sources of funding to develop and strengthen their research programs. At the Office for Sponsored Research (OSR), I managed sponsored research agreement engagement and administration for all schools on Northwestern's main Evanston campus, including engineering and applied sciences, chemistry and life sciences, business, communications, journalism, and the graduate school, as well as Northwestern's international campus in Doha, Qatar. I engaged companies throughout the negotiation process to reach agreement on invention ownership, licensing scope and terms, copyright, prosecution, and infringement, as well as other non-IP areas of concern to the University.I was co-located with the Intellectual Property and New Ventures (INVO) office. Intellectual property is one of the most important matters to negotiate in the context of industry sponsored research, and the sooner goals and expectations are communicated between parties, the better. I ensured that the communication channel between our IP and sponsored research offices, as well as our corporate engagement office, was smooth and robust and that all offices were focused on driving forward business opportunities within the realm of acceptable risk.
