Local news & reporting is critical to communities but in recent years these outlets have been struggling to compete with large social platforms. Blockfeed aimed to level the playing field by aggregating all local news and blogs onto a single publisher-friendly platform. We then leveraged machine learning to enrich news stories with data such as geocoordinates, tags, and trending scores. The result was Blockfeed, the first local news app that showed you news you’re physically closest to (previously known as Qork). For about a year Blockfeed was the top news app in NYC. We were featured in 30+ media outlets, including TechCrunch, WIRED, NY Post, The Next Web, Mashable, MSNBC, Inc & more.App service was officially discontinued in 2016 due to inability to secure financing.

Managed a distributed team of videographers, writers and editors to produce editorial and documentary stories for nonprofit, corporate and news clients, including Jerusalem Post, IBA Channel 1 English News, Yodle, Blue Fountain Media, and the Siftech startup accelerator. Co-produced six episodes for a show on MTV based on real life superheroes. Not picked up for series.

Co-created community activist organization Superheroes Anonymous. The organization gained international fame for our unique approach to promoting creative community service through original superhero identities. Some of our activities included homeless outreach, rebuilding homes in disaster-struck areas, organizing toy drops, fundraising, activism and education. Featured in global media including The New York Times, BBC, CNN, Fuji TV, and HBO. Television rights sold to MTV in 2010.
