Helped build the company's next-generation web site enabling customers to upload and manage their personal media as well as configure and order products. Employed a variety of web and application tier technologies including Grails, Groovy, Java, Spring, jQuery, CSS and HTML5. Worked remotely with a small and fast-paced development team.

* Custom development for a variety of clients. Projects typically involved working closely with clients from requirements gathering to deployment. Iterative development and pair programming with my remote business partner were standard.

* Participated in the design and development of an in-house geocoding system using Java, Tomcat, Struts, JSP, Spring, Hibernate and an Oracle database. Supported web service requests leveraging both in-house and external geocoders as well as a web site to submit geocoding requests, manage system access, manage geocoding data and run reporting tools, saving the company more than $500K annually.* Designed and developed solutions for an in-house GIS team. Built extensions to ESRI's ArcMap software to support custom map generation and improve map creation efficiency.* Set up Subversion and Scarab systems for source control and issue tracking. Migrated all company data to the systems, which then became the new company standards, saving the company more than $200K annually in licensing fees and increased productivity.* Participated in the design and development of a J2EE system managing and reporting on 911 data. Architected, designed and developed the system's presentation layer including communication between entity beans, stateless session beans, the Cocoon publishing framework and XSLT templates.

* Participated in the design and development of a Java/J2EE compliant electronic bill presentment and payment system using Java, Weblogic and Oracle. The system used J2EE technologies and was platform and middleware independent. Developed stateless session beans that generated XML using data retrieved from entity beans (wrapped using Toplink) and transformed it using XSL to produce dynamic HTML. During the 2nd phase of this project, worked on a custom repository for JNDI-enabled data sources as well as a messaging and transport layer using JMS and RMI.* Participated in the development of a catalog and order entry system using Java, WebObjects and Oracle. Developed reusable components for generating and displaying dynamic data. Also contributed to a contact history module which tracked and displayed user interactions with the application.

* Served as a Java / WebObjects developer for the Intranet / Extranet Technology division's distributed learning project. Developed reusable components to build dynamic content.

* Served as a developer for the Internal Revenue Service's Compliance Research Intranet. Assisted in the design, development and deployment of custom suite of applications. Researched, tested, recommended and deployed COTS products. Wrote technical documentation and assisted in user and administrator training. Also assisted in data gathering and client interactions.* Assisted with the Compliance Research Intranet security task, following the conclusion of the initial task. Served as a technical reference for aspects of the system that pertained to the system's security. Also assisted in the writing of the security documentation.* Served as the lead developer for the Internal Revenue Service's Compliance Research Intranet follow-on work. Responsible for all modifications and enhancements to the system as well as data gathering, client interactions, system documentation and some user and administrator training.* Served as a developer for the MCI OTTO task between the conclusion of the initial CRI task and the start of the follow-on work. Designed, developed and implemented a custom application for MCI's Bona Fide Requests. The application included interfaces for submitting, tracking and reporting Bona Fide Requests.* Assisted with the US Army's M&RA and EEOA task. Served as a technical reference for the installation and configuration of the web server, database and Cold Fusion software as well as the custom designed Cold Fusion scripts.* Served as a technical reference for the CSS / IVE task assisting in the analysis of the database design and the planning of the Cold Fusion application for the web site.* Served as the lead developer for the US Navy's SWARKOL task. This entailed designing, developing and implementing a custom application employing a set of databases distributed over an Intranet. This also involved training new developers in the use of Cold Fusion and other web technologies.

* Designed and developed a Java applet as an interactive front-end generating user-defined searches of an online toxicology database for the National Institute of Health's National Library of Medicine.* Designed, developed and implemented an internal report generator in Visual Basic for compilation of MS Word documents for user-defined searches.* Designed and developed programs for electronic claims submission and remittance for a software client vendor using ISM on a UNIX platform.* Supported and enhanced Compucare's Sigma system with report design and additional functionality for several modules.* Provided support and maintenance for Compucare's Sigma client, specializing in-patient accounting and billing applications.

* Implemented ITS Help Desk, which supported approximately 250 Local Area Network users and approximately 600 users worldwide.* Assisted in maintaining 3 servers (2 production and 1 development).* Assisted in managing e-mail services, including cc:Mail Mobile and Sprintmail.* Managed computer equipment inventory for Barents Group.* Set up and configured all new laptops and many new desktop computer systems.
