Throughout my career in Finance and Accounting, I’ve historically been the person called on to manage the big projects, solve the challenging issues, and build new positions from the ground up.Many of the years have been in the industrial real estate industry, where I decided early on to stretch beyond accounting and learn the business – growing from a senior accountant to a financial executive who is an integral part of all decisions made within the company.I have an in-depth understanding of real estate, and combine that with comprehensive financial planning, forecasting, and analysis to guide executive decisions.When our parent company decided to sell IDI, I was deeply involved in the process—from due diligence through sale—and then worked closely with the new owner to build the Financial Planning & Analysis Organization, where I am today.To provide an overview of accomplishment, here are some results:* Built forecasting and budgeting model for entire company – supplying confidence in numbers, providing clarity and visibility to allow better decision making.* Served as point person to successfully close $1B sale of company – coordinating due diligence and managing the process among sellers, buyers, attorneys, and investment bankers.* Implemented accounting solution that allowed company to recognize $18M in profits.* Chosen to build 3 new positions/departments – selected to lead business-critical projects – and managed integration of finance requirements after the merger.* Managed global relationships with colleagues, vendors, and partners in Canada, Mexico, and Japan.* Held responsibility for budgeting and forecasting of $2B+ in real estate assets.
