Full stack senior software engineer for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) using Typescript / Javascript, React, Node, GraphQL, Postgres, MongoDB, Docker, RedHat OpenShift Kubernetes Platform, and Jenkins.I build software for bioinformatics research of infectious respiratory diseases. Some of the features I've worked on include: uploading and analyzing gene sequencing data, UI dashboards to visualize results and study progress, user management, authentication / authorization, and automated csv and pdf reporting.I also launched a software platform for managing annual gene sequencing lab quality assessments for international labs (this is functionally similar to CRM software like Salesforce or Hubspot).I've worked on transitioning existing applications from on-prem servers to the cloud in order to decrease downtime and reduce reliance on external ops teams for support and deployment. By moving our apps to cloud and creating CI/CD pipelines, I reduced our deployment time from days to minutes.Working on a small team, I've had the opportunity to serve as a technical product manager for two of our applications. I lead meetings with our scientific and non-technical stakeholders to align on short-term and long-term initiatives for our software apps.
