Bengt is an independent management and development consultant based in Harare, Zimbabwe. He provides consulting, investment advisory, training and facilitation services to the private sector and international donor community. In addition to facilitating the purchase and becoming the major shareholder of a 610-hectare commercial farm outside Harare in 1997, Bengt's work in agriculture and horticulture has ranged from developing a strategy for Zimbabwe's horticultural export sector on behalf of the Horticultural Promotion Council, mobilising funding for a major rose exporter, providing planning support to the Government's command horticulture programme, assisting a vegetable exporter with the establishment of an outgrower scheme, to designing and evaluating inclusive business models. Most recently he assisted a group of Zimbabwean and Dutch investors to obtain a license to cultivate medical cannabis, and to mobilise the required funding from the Dutch Good Growth Fund. Operations commenced in 2022.As a Project Manager for the Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund in Zimbabwe , Bengt provided investment advice, as well as business performance and development impact monitoring & evaluation support from 2013 to 2017. He has also assisted, on behalf of KPMG, the Global Alliance to Improve Nutrition's (GAIN) Marketplace Innovation Accelerator Programme with the development of business plans for selected agricultural and agribusiness SMEs in Kenya, Mozambique and Tanzania. Bengt is co-founder of ICC, a development consulting firm now based in Maputo, Mozambique. Prior to creating ICC in 1996, Bengt was Senior Manager in the Rotterdam office of the US management consulting firm Arthur D. Little International Inc. (ADL).
