During my years of employment with Sedro-Woolley Fire Department (SWFD), I was able to work in multiple different roles and progress throughout the organization. I provided high-quality customer service, patient care and fire response as both a resident (in-house volunteer) and part-time firefighter/EMT. I became certified as a Confined Space Rescue Technician and was trained to provide rescue during confined space incidents within our response area. In January of 2019, our fire department, along with others within the county, took over ALS level care. This major change for the county provided me the opportunity to work as a part-time firefighter/paramedic for the City of Sedro-Woolley. SWFD responds to nearly 3,500 calls per year.

Endorsed as an IV technician I became proficient at treating patients at a higher level than a basic EMT by gaining IV access and providing fluid replacement as needed.
