Drawing on my own sailing experience in fast multihull and foiling classes, my coaching style aims to create a open and sharing environment, facilitating group learning.

During my degree course I undertook a placement year with Allen Brothers Ltd., a globally recognised recognised marine hardware supplier and engineering firm, working in the busy design office. Key responsibilities and experience included:- Working in the design office alongside active design team.- Regular publication of production drawings for new parts and updates to existing part drawings.- Management of manufacturing drawing log, including overseeing a full restructure of the way production drawings are logged, stored and distributed.- Attending regular design meetings, reporting project progress to management, sales and marketing teams.- Project management of new product development for both internal and OEM projects.- Definition of product requirements with internal sales/marketing teams as well as with external clients.- Designing for a wide range of production methods including CNC milling and turning, injection moulding, sheet metal pressing, fabrication and welding.- Coordination with inhouse toolroom to develop injection moulding and press tools, as well as jigs and rigs to be used in CNC mills or to improve assembly process.- Design and modelling of parts and assemblies using PTC CREO CAD software.- Generating CAM files to run on a CNC mill, working closely with experienced machinists.- Experience using Sage 200 MRP / ERP system.- Developing an understanding of ISO 9001: Quality Management Systems, including experience in both internal and external auditing and review processes.
