Worked on a contract basis to improve firm cash-flow, operations, workflow efficiency & practice management.I was responsible for the management and operations of the accounting firm, enabling the equity partners to focus on client service/contact and new business development. I set up a new workflow structure for the accounting team that focused on individual author workflow responsibility (thereby helping decrease reliance on partners). I had full budget accountability and reported to the board monthly on progress being made. I spent a lot of time on initiatives to improve the culture of the organisation; implementing a staff incentive scheme, personalised training program for both technical and support staff, as well as revising KPIs for the team and business. Client service and soft skills training for the team were also a constant focus over the year.

I worked as the head of the coaching team for GPL Financial Services, a consulting company in the Australian accounting and financial services industry. I worked with accounting and financial services businesses around Australia helping them to profitably grow their businesses through regular coaching and training sessions. I developed systems to use with clients and their businesses as well as presenting group training sessions for clients at industry seminars and events. I worked on capital raising for various early stage investments and on an IPO for an environmental sciences company, Pacific Environment Limited (ASX code PEH). I worked as an analyst for the float's financial models and worked on the due diligence team for the acquisitions. I also worked on the prospectus team for the floats and with the management team worked on the group strategy and roll out post IPO.

Worked in project management, business and product development for English pronunciation software company, Lanstar Corporation in early commercialisation mode. I spearheaded efforts for launching in Japan, Singapore and Malaysia. I also managed their online strategy enabling ecommerce sites for English, Japanese and Indonesian clients. I also provided valuable market and industry intelligence, co-ordinated product refinement, managed industry and government partners. I have achieved key milestones for Japanese rollout, negotiated key contracts with overseas prospects and coordinated marketing and strategy in conjunction with overseas agents.

I started a private English training and consulting business in the Kobe/Akashi area of Japan. It was a great learning experience and helped develop my leadership, business management and marketing skills in an international environment. I sourced, negotiated and fulfilled contracts with Kawasaki Heavy Industries and with employees of Philips Japan among other companies. I trained employees to overcome organisational and cultural changes that occurred in businesses that had diverse corporate and international cultures. I also helped employees improve their English speaking abilities and with western business communication skills so they could add value to their organisations.
