About Benjamin Gross
My primary concentration is studying the history of political philosophy. Currently, I am studying the interaction between politics, morality, and the development of science and technology. My interest is exploring the philosophic differences between ancient and modern thought, the implications of these differences on politics and morality.Professionally, I have experience as a college instructor in the field of political science. As a graduate teaching instructor, and an adjunct faculty member at Harper College, I have taught courses in "Introduction to American government" and "Introduction to American political thought". Currently, I serve as an editorial assistant for the American Political Science Review, which is hosted at the University of North Texas.Outside of academia I have worked as a journalist. For three months, I was the editorial board intern for the Chicago Tribune. Also, I was as a sports reporter covering Northern Illinois University athletics for the Chicago-Sun Times, Aurora Beacon, Freeport Journal-Standard and the Northern Star for five years. Most recently, I was a freelance reporter for Patch. I worked primarily in Naperville, but also covered Plainfield, Shorewood and Lisle. I have won numerous awards in journalism; mostly for my features and investigative journalism work.
