During my employment with MinterEllison, I spent a year seconded to ConocoPhillips’ in house legal team. During this time I provided legal research assistance on litigation, regulatory compliance and corporate governance matters for ConocoPhillips in its own right and the shareholder and downstream operator of the APLNG JV project. I also reviewed contract terms, policies, and tender submissions, drafting summaries of key issues for the three senior members of the legal team. A key learning opportunity and accomplishment in this role was working alongside the Supply Chain team to assign, replicate or renegotiate over 350 contracts as part of ConocoPhillips’ Vendor Group Restructure in preparation for the sale of its western assets to Santos.

Employed as a long-term casual research clerk within the dispute resolution team in Brisbane. A diverse role which required me to adapt my duties as required by the team of solicitors, often managing multiple tasks at a time. The role involved undertaking research on specific questions of law, document review, preparation of briefs for council, chronologies and assisting with affidavits and pleadings.

I have worked in various paid contract roles as a researcher for the Griffith Law School. My first role was awarded as a research bursary through the Griffith Honours College, working as a research assistant within the Law Futures Centre on a project entitled ‘Alternative Forms of International Governance beyond the Neoliberal State’. Following that, I was entrusted with a solo research project, reporting directly to the Deputy Head of Learning, performing a comparative analysis of international arbitration law, assessing the benefits of harmonization of dispute resolution provisions in Australia’s trade agreements with Indian Ocean Rim States. I have also assisted with proofing and editing on a number of published academic research works. My most recent contract reported directly to the Vice Chancellor of the university, providing a comprehensive research note for a presentation on freedom of religion, conscience and belief reforms within Australia.

Working within the marketing department for promotional events such as the Griffith Open Day, tertiary expos and secondary school presentations. Essential to this role is confidence and willingness to lend a hand wherever needed. Working as a team with other ambassadors and often being assigned to events with new workmates every time requires me to adapt quickly to new environments and new people.

During a 12 week internship, I worked independently under the Principal Governance Officer to carry out a policy reduction strategy for Gold Coast Hospital and Health. The project involved reviewing over 250 policy instruments to ensure they were utilising the best instrument for the job, consist with the instrument type requirements, informed by current evidence, compliant with current legislation and best-practice, as well as to identify opportunities to streamline and reduce the number of instruments in use, equipping the Governance Officer to provide advice and recommendation to the Policy Instrument Delegates and assist with revision of policy instrument content where agreed.

Natuzzi is a world leader in high end Italian leather lounge furniture. In my role as Operations Manager at Natuzzi I:Identified, developed & implemented an efficient multi-store post sale system, including the associated training of staff. Managed the store matrix, which included planning & ordering floor merchandise, managing the strategic installation of new floor displays and ensuring maintenance of the matrix in accordance with Natuzzi International merchandising guidelines. Senior managed all post-sale enquiries, services and complaint resolution. Liaised with Natuzzi at a national and international level regarding warranty & production issues.

Euroglass is a custom manufacturer & installer of high-end frameless glass balustrades, showers, pool fences, shopfronts and architectural glazed assemblies. My role here was a combined role involving, but not limited to: Relationship management & development of our retail accounts- built strong partnerships and sales growth through regular call cycles, exceptional customer service, technical product training and maintenance of showroom displays. My success in this saw me break the company record for monthly sales in January 2011- in the height of the global financial crisis.Managed showroom displays and trained & managed showroom staff. Provided technical assistance, design and specification advice to architects and builders. Prepared and managed Tenders and subsequent contract administration.Prepared quotes & estimates for contracts up to the value of $400k (total project values in excess of $20m) - including both on site measures and take-offs from architectural plans. On site liaison & problem solver between architects, builders and relevant associated trades.

Upon moving to Australia I secured a position as Showroom Manager and Sales Support at Silent Gliss, a premium retailer of custom-made window furnishings. In this role I had full responsibility for the efficient and professional operation of the retail showroom. I was very quickly promoted to an Account Management / Area Sales position, covering the region north of the Brisbane river up to Noosa. In this position I: Managed our retail accounts and built relationships with our Retail Distributor Network using regular call cycles, providing information and sales training on all new products, managing showroom displays and supporting showroom staff with both technical issues and pricing/sales advice. Provided specification advice, product training and technical support to architects, designers & developers.Measured & quoted from both on-site & plans. Provided technical on-site support for associated trades such as builders and electricians, assisting with wiring layouts and pelmet/bulkhead design. I was actively involved in lobbying the government on various areas social and human rights issues, initially in a private capacity then on invitation as a member of Voice Waikato.My responsibilities in this organisation included:Authored and obtained petition support for written submissions to parliament.Presented oral arguments before a Parliamentary Select Committee.Researched current issues of relevance and authored press releases.
