Water Quality Scientist
CurrentWater quality scientist managing the OARS citizen science program and leading the scientific work in support of the restoration and health of the Assabet, Sudbury, and Concord rivers. Primarily responsible for monitoring the water quality, river flow, and aquatic biomass, and sharing the results with the public, regulators and policy-makers.•Monitoring Coordinator for OARS, the Organization for the Assabet, Sudbury, and Concord Rivers. Managing OARS’ 30-year citizen-science water monitoring program, analyzing water chemistry at 30 locations throughout the watershed.•Managed the 2019 launch of OARS’ new volunteer bacteria monitoring program, and leading ongoing source-tracking studies of bacteria hotspots identified by the monitoring program.•Leading the data collection and analysis of all watershed science studies, including biomass monitoring, cold-water fishery stream monitoring, stream-flow gaging, dissolved oxygen monitoring, and conductivity/chloride research.•Publishing the Water Quality Monitoring Program Annual Report for towns in the watershed and for the Massachusetts DEP.
