At VBIC lab, I was working on bacterial interaction in the context of chronic wounds, more specifically within the diabetic foot ulcer context. My research focused on (i) characterizing a poorly descrided anaerobic commensal bacterium, H. kunzii, that has been shown to elicit a virulence repression on S. aureus and (ii) unravelling the modalities of this interaction. To fullfilI this aim used various approaches, such as (i) a genomic characterisation, (ii)a proteomic comparaison of pure and combined culture in a chronic wound like environment and (iii) a phenotypical characterization for growth, biofilm formation ability and antibiotic susceptibility both in pure and combined culture.
