I managed all aspects of the Garrison Commander’s Antiterrorism Program by supervising, coordinating, advising, collecting, interpreting, and providing Force Protection guidance, policies and procedures as related to physical security, combating terrorism, law enforcement, information security (INFOSEC), operations security (OPSEC), and personnel security (PERSEC). My overall focus is to ensure protection of and minimize risk to critical assets and personnel including military and their family members, government civilian and contract employees, visitors, and the local community (+38,000). My program was recognized as the “Best Antiterrorism Program in the U.S. Army” (Category D – Small Installations) by the Office of the Undersecretary of the Army at the 2016 Worldwide Antiterrorism Conference.

Afghanistan

As Senior Logistics Manager (10-month term assignment), I coordinated operations, logistics, and maintained technical accountability of electronic warfare systems fielded to U.S. and Coalition Forces throughout the South and West Regional Commands in Afghanistan. I managed support services to 15 regional outposts and distribution to other areas within Southwest Asia for Operations Enduring Freedom and New Dawn. This family of electronic warefare systems is primarily deployed to protect personnel from improvised explosive devises and enable freedom of mobility on the battlefield. Pennsylvania

As Partnerships Manager (aka, Business Development Specialist), I developed and managed industry partnerships in support of depot maintenance and sustainment of U.S. Department of Defense communications-electronics systems. I would often serve in the capacity of Project/Proposal Manager for multiple projects, leading interdisciplinary teams in the development of competitive bids, full-scale proposals, and transition plans. As Proposal Manager, I developed project objectives, schedules, resource requirements, and overall plans for accomplishment. I prepared financial forecasts in line with proposal execution schedules and presented business case recommendations for corporate decision. Additionally, I assisted in the development of plans and pricing to accommodate engineering changes, production surges, and critical logistical/operational changes. In order to foster Public to Private Partnerships, I developed and executed partnering strategies, teaming agreements and contractual agreements with leading defense industry firms, as well as, small businesses. As a Management Program Analyst, I was a member of the Business Director’s staff supporting command-sponsored projects and initiatives, such as program analysis and reporting, corporate briefings and information paper development, marketing media development, executive visit support, and independent projects that required managing interdisciplinary teams. As an armed security officer, I executed force protection measures in accordance with established policy, training and experience. I enforced a wide range of rules, regulations/policy, legal authorities and precedents, limitations on the use of deadly force, and application of the use of weapons systems, detention and apprehension, and access control/physical security measures. I was recognized for outstanding entry control search procedures and the processing of large-carrier freight shipments onto the installation. Iraq

While serving as an Inventory Management Specialist (6-month term assignment) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation New Dawn, I established inventory processes, improvements, and standards at Camp Taji, Iraq ensuring that complex and sensitive communications-electronics systems were processed and shipped in accordance with higher headquarters guidance. I led small teams on fly-away missions to forward operating bases to conduct unit turn-in for redeploying U.S. Forces. I also operated independently and provided sound technical guidance and logistical support to military personnel while ensuring coordination with the unit's Brigade Logistics Support Team and Wholesale Responsible Officer. Pennsylvania

As a 24-year-old Staff Sergeant (E-6) I was appointed to Platoon Sergeant - Responsible for the training, development, safety, and productivity of 36 enlisted soldiers. I employed training and maintenance on military equipment, conducted thorough inspections of soldiers and equipment and maintained 100% accountability of soldiers, safety, and equipment. Additionally, I served in the capacity of Construction Site Supervisor which required the skills to read and interpret construction drawings; estimate material, time, equipment and labor requirements; supervise the construction and repair of wood frame, concrete, masonry or prefabricated structures; and direct combat engineering missions. Iraq

During my junior year at Penn State University, I was mobilized to Iraq to begin stability operations in the region. I provided protection services as the security detail for convoy missions throughout central Iraq for the 980th Engineer Combat Battalion. I also provided personal security for the convoy Commander during Civil Affairs missions throughout Baghdad and surrounding area. I served as a Contracting Officer Representative, managing local national (Iraqi) construction contracts valuing $260,000. I also served as a Quality Control and Quality Assurance Inspector (structural) on a team that managed $22,000,000 of contract construction on Camp Cooke (Al-Taji), Iraq. I worked closely with Iraqi nationals to interpret construction contracts, troubleshoot construction challenges, and complete contractual requirements.
