Additional duties of Principal Antenna Engineer beyond existing Antenna Engineer role:● Lead group of electrical engineers working on antenna designs, interfacing with the broader team to create and derive requirements.● Work in a multi-disciplinary environment to develop concepts, identify creative solutions to customer requirements, and assess feasibility of solutions. Oversees the full spectrum of product development (concept, design, implementation, test, production, and support) as it relates to antenna systems.● Technical advisor / mentor to provide insight to other antenna engineers regarding design considerations, previous company IP, software training, tips/tricks, etc. ● Simulate, design and test, with support from individual team contributors, the development of various antenna systems in line with customer requirements and objectives. ● Help draft requirements (SCDs) and extract from those that are directly related to the antenna system. Work directly with customers on deriving these requirements.● Support any travel or on-site visits needed to troubleshoot or complete a customer project.● Work directly with Chief Scientist to identify new projects and perform risk-reduction during Business Development (BD) phase. Once job is created and risk-reduction completed, pass off design to antenna engineer (or self complete design ) to take the design to completion. Support design until completion.

● Responsible for the design, manufacturing, and implementation of multi-band Earth Observation (EO) reflector antennas, tracking feeds and subreflectors. EO antennas ranging in size from 5.4m to 13m diameter and operation at L-band, S-Band, X-band and Ka-band. Experience with configuration management systems, higher-level system design, and customer/vendor interaction. ● Design and analysis of multi-band antennas, monopulse tracking systems, waveguide filters, polarizers, turnstile junctions, frequency selective surface subreflectors (FSS), high power transmit systems, and other hardware ranging from L-band to above Ka-band.● Specifically designed and tested the following: 6-port X/Ka dual-band feed, broadband L/S-band polarizer, S/X/Ka tri-band subreflector (FSS), Cassegrain dual-reflector systems ranging from 1.4m to 18m, high efficiency X-band and S-band tracking feeds, and much more.● Modeling, performance assessment, and data/tracking analysis of new and existing antenna system architectures using HFSS, GRASP, MATLAB, and other software packages.● Extensive antenna testing, integration, and measurement experience in lab setting, anechoic chamber, and outdoor far-field facility.
