As a front desk employee at Poelking Lanes I had various responsibilities and situations to work through. These included working the weekends till closing time at 2am, counting the register, and helping customers with their transactions and assigning them a lane. Even though I was not a manager, as a front desk employee; I was entrusted to ensure the safety of the on floor workers during the nights that I was on duty. In any normal circumstance this would just mean making sure the floor staff doesn't get berated by any drunks who frequent the bowling alley late at night, however during my employment the coronavirus pandemic hit. Due to the pandemic I had to ensure that not only were my floor staff safe from possible exposure to the virus, I had to make sure that the customers were as well. Every shift I would run routine temperature checks on all the staff in the building, make sure that customers were wearing masks, and space people apart so that they were not within six feet of each other. Juggling the existing responsibilities of being a front desk worker and the additional safety concerns due to the recent pandemic have taught me that the best way to get through any problem is with a calm mindset.

I was hired at A.C. Moore as a Seasonal Sales Associate who would help the store out through the holiday seasons. While employed by A.C.Moore I was trained on how to use a cash register, stock shelves, and help customers throughout the store. Throughout my time at A.C. Moore I had plenty of opportunities to push for charity opportunities being sponsored by the company. These various charitable opportunities included offering customers the chance to buy low priced toys for children in need and cancer donation. During the Christmas season I pushed numerous baskets of toys and helped fill up three full sized shipping containers with toys for children in need. I can honestly say that helping these charities was the best part of my job, and to be even more honest, my holiday season.
