In February 2014 I was subcontracting for Midwest glass in Chicago Illinois tinting windows commercial & residential and some automotive. Work was slow, usually was in the winter. So I caught a bus to Houston. Started working at an orilleys DC March 3 unloading trucks in there returns department. Six months in I transferred to QA department. I started in the overnight cycle count team. After a year I became bored with counting I needed more, I needed a challenge. I volunteered to cover a day shit in the same department doing repicks and reserch for ordering selecting. At first it was overwhelming no team just me with basic function training and barely that. Then I noticed I was in a position that allowed me to see everything as a whole, and I wanted to know it all, know exactly how everything works. Receiving and stocking product, researching venders and inventory, picking parts, profiling the warehouse, working with our vendors, buyers, sister DC's, stores, and customers. Within six months I knew all Waterhouse functions, the DC floor, and product layout and detailed information. At two and a half years I was working with multiple departments doing multiple job functions with all warehouse teams everyday, and always with a smile.
