The focus of my research is the photometrical calibration of standard stars. I developed a laboratory light source enabling measurements with sub-percent uncertainties. I built up and adjusted the light source's optical components and characterized their properties. My main emphasis lies in the software development of the automatization of laboratory equipment to allow complete remote control and automatized costume data storage. During my research, I needed to write customized application programming interfaces (APIs) for Unix-like platforms and synchronize equipment over a network controlled by machines running on different operating systems (OS) (Linux and Windows). Continuous data production implies an automatized analysis software that is easy to use for different users. I, therefore, write complete software packages (python, bash) that install command-line interfaces to lower the threshold for other users.Part of my research was a trip to Hawaii, Mauna Kea, to mount equipment on a telescope.
