Audit manager in the alternative investments group that specializes in auditing private equity funds and hedge funds. Experience also includes mutual funds and introducing broker dealers. My responsibilities and experience include: • Manage engagement teams on various alternative asset classes and structures, including private equity, domestic and offshore hedge funds, master-feeder, and fund-of-fund structures ranging from $20 million to $10 billion assets under management.• Evaluate client portfolio valuations and disclosures for investments in private companies, foreign currency forwards, futures, credit default swaps, options, interest rate swaps, and total return swaps with Bloomberg, Markit, and IDC.• Audit various Level 3 investment valuations using industry multiples, discounted cash flows, and enterprise values with waterfall provisions.• Assist clients with financial statements with GAAP, SEC, CFTC, NFA, and CIMA regulatory disclosure compliance for accuracy and completeness.• Managed audit for the formation and public filing of a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) including Form S-1 filing with the SEC.• Supervise seniors and associates on mergers and acquisition introducing broker dealer audits and review of FOCUS and Form SIPC-7 filings.• Manage all interim and year-end client work, including planning, staffing, budgeting, audit testing, accounting research and financial statement reporting.• Evaluate and document understanding of accounting systems, analyze and assess audit risk, and complete audit assertion testing of account balances.• Instructed KPMG audit associates and seniors at national trainings and covered technical accounting and audit topics specific to the alternative investments group, including, financial statement disclosures, investment valuation testing, and fund structures.
