Work has taken me to some amazing cities; Lagos, Chicago, Abu Dhabi, Hyderabad, Shanghai and many more. However, it is Japan that has provided the challenge and reward and contributed to my growth. In Japan, relationship is important in business. However, the demands of business partnership is changing along with the rest of the world. Customers are looking at the value of the partnership and the traditional “relationship-only-basket” strategy is no longer sufficient. This creates the biggest opportunity for current and aspiring account managers in Japan.This is where I come in. My experience working with people from different markets have allow me to be adaptable. I relocated from Singapore in 2017 and have been responsible for recruiting, developing and mentoring a multicultural team of account managers and future leaders. I have a proven record in helping my client/partners achieve their organization goals while achieving revenue growth for the company and developing tomorrow leaders. Contract renewals, expansion, Program integration and selling SaaS is part of what I do. Experience has proven that leading and "walking with" my team, it is possible for a multicultural team with an appreciation of local nuance and a globalise mindset can make a difference and impact. As part of the change management post the acquisition in 2019, I have proactively help my colleagues in Japan mentally prepare by:• Sharing how their counterparts in other markets operate and function. • Introducing small manageable changes and processes. I am the "go to person" for my colleagues outside Japan in need of support and information' or representing Japan during global sales pitch calls. I am glad to contribute to their learning. Without a doubt, Covid19 has shaped my perspective and reaffirm my aspirations.In my free time, • I help my family rebuild and modernise their farm through sustainable practices and build direct connections to consumers through digitalisation. • Picking up Japanese lessons to improve the communication between my teams and connect with my community. • Attending “tea parties” hosted by my daughters.
