Dissertation Topic: Born Qualified Additive Manufacturing: In-situ Part Quality Assurance in Metal Additive Manufacturing.Studied methods for flaw detection and prevention in popular Additive Manufacturing (AM), such as Laser Powder Bed Fusion, Directed Energy Deposition, and Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing. This is done with the use of heterogeneous sensor data and physics-informed machine learning models. Currently, work in the Laboratory of Additive Manufacturing and Process Science [LAMPS].

Use heterogeneous sensor fusion to monitor the Laser Powder Bed fusion process. Primarily focusing on novel monitoring methods using Acoustic Emission Sensing. Develop the Center’s knowledge of additive manufacturing monitoring solutions in P-DED, LW-DED, and WAAM. Generate sensor packages to be deployed at the Center of Excellence for the US Navy’s project to expand the industrial base using LPBF and WAAM.
