In partnerships with local communities, Ecoponex develops, owns and operates Renewable Energy Efficient Farms (REEFs) in urban areas where traditional farming and food production are not possible. REEFs produce healthy fresh food including vegetables and fish (with micro-algae as an option) utilizing a proprietary world-class controlled environment agri-food technology engineered as a closed-loop process where all of the water, nutrients and carbon are recycled without waste, inefficiency or discharge to the environment. The "Ecoponex" process is totally self-sustaining as it operates entirely on renewable energy derived from the sun and biogas fuel from the anaerobic digestion of organic food and green waste. As such it represents a quantum leap in production at 100 times the yield of conventional farming methods that could revolutionize how fresh food is produced on the planet.

Benjamin was founder and CEO of Ecoponex and was the driving force behind the Company with his vision and leadership molded from a 40-year career in renewable energy, resource management/conservation, and sustainable agriculture.The mission of Ecoponex is to develop modular and scalable Renewable Energy Efficient Farms (REEFs) utilizing controlled environment agriculture with a integrated closed-loop process to locally produce healthy fresh nutritious food for people and livestock in urban and rural areas around the world. Operating REEF facilities will dramatically shrink the overall environmental footprint and water and energy intensity of conventional agriculture while creating jobs and educational training opportunities, reducing health care costs, providing for food safety and energy security and creating true sustainability, resiliency and self-reliance

Benjamin founded both Microgy and Byogy Renewables. As President of Microgy he identified and negotiated a license to a proprietary Danish biogas technology and helped take the company public through a merger with Environmental Power Corporation. With this license Microgy developed biogas plants in Wisconsin and Texas, including the Huckabee Ridge plant near Stevensville that at the time in 2007 was the largest anaerobic digester facility in the world. In 2008, Benjamin formed Byogy Renewables who subsequently formed a strategic partnership with Texas A&M University with a license to commercialize an integrated platform of bio/thermo-chemical biomass conversion technologies to make liquid transportation fuels as "drop-in" substitutes.

Planetec was an Energy Services Company (ESCO) certified by DOE and DOD to do business with the federal government as an Energy Saving Performance Contractor. Company implemented energy and water saving projects for utility companies, water and wastewater authorities, oil refineries, ski areas, hospitals and military bases around the U.S.

Served as master planner of national parks and monuments involving resource protection/conservation programs and environmentally sensitive infrastructure development to accommodate visitors.
