I'm working with Hitscan Games on the top-down looter shooter Solar Purge, now available in Early Access on Steam!My responsibilities include narrative development, scenario and level design.This involves writing lore, character dialog, asset placement in engine and mountains of digital & analog notes but it can and does often lead to some level scripting, navigation work, lighting, and some material editing.What this really means in practice is:- script-doctoring dialogue on-the-fly with a voice actor to keep their mic from popping on a word in the middle of their line, or- group debugging blueprints while we implement a cool new setpiece battle or environmental shift, or- performing .obj <-> .fbx surgery to update NPC characters' uniforms & haircuts, or- making alien fighter ship crash-sites throughout a level to signpost new enemy types and give subconscious directional advice to the player, or- talking through new level blockouts to work out the narrative and combat flow, or- repurposing a mostly legacy dialogue system to make speaking characters able to react uniquely to different player characters, or- inventing a mood lighting piece that turns a basic room into a level highlight, or- convincing the level designer that a downward slope in one section will both better sell the river they want to use and open up a larger camera field of view for the next enemy encounter, or- engineering a way to turn a test level into a photo studio to get charater portraits looking good!That is to say it's an ever-changing series of finding ways to make the game more fun and exciting to play while making use of the resources we have (and still hitting our release milestone)!

I had an epiphany, and set out on the road. With nothing but a tent, a sleeping bag, and the clothes on my back I walked for 55 days in the path of Kobo Daishi to the main 88 Buddhist temples on the island of Shikoku, a pilgrimage people have made for the last 1200 years.In business we pay a lot of lip service to "taking challenges head on" and "finding new ways to move forward." I took these concepts to both a physical and (more importantly) spiritual extreme. The pilgrimage burns away the scales from both your eyes and your heart, and you come to learn what actually matters in life. I wish I could explain it more clearly, but it must be experienced to be understood.

My specialty was working with both senior managers and hands-on staff in the infrastructure space.I was responsible for identifying and introducing top talent, managing contract staff working on-site at client firms, as well as expanding TradeWinds' exchange hosting, on-site contracting and HR services to new client companies.
