Since departing from the United States Army I have been building my own dream home with my wife and children. The Team Leader for an Infantry Company; operates a team from both the mounted and dismounted positions to close with and destroy the enemy; maintains proficiency in proper team dismounted movements; collects all the tactical information from the team and passes it up through chain of command; responsible for the health, welfare, and morale of the soldiers they are appointed over, and is responsible for the accountability and maintenance of all assigned MTO&E equipment worth of $50,000- 2.5 million dollars' worth of equipment, BII and communications platforms onboard a military vehicle.

My responsibilities as a Rifle Squad Leader in a Light Infantry Company; responsible for the welfare, fitness, morale and discipline of nine Soldiers; responsible for the individual training and maintenance of their equipment; primary instructor and advisor in the matters of tactics, personnel management and junior leader development; directs his Squad's tactical employment during offensive and defensive operations; responsible for the accountability and maintenance of all assigned MTO&E equipment worth $750,000- $2,000.000 in weapons, optics, organizational equipment , and the military vehicle.

My duties as a member of a six man Sniper Squad assigned to a Dismounted Reconnaissance Troop was to provides long-range, precision rifle fire and target acquisition on key targets, select targets, and targets of opportunity; collect tactical information concerning the enemy, terrain, weather, and civil considerations within an Area of Operations; advise the Troop Commander on tactical and technical employment of our Sniper Team; I was at times responsible for the health, welfare, morale, and individual training with focus on marksmanship, physical fitness, and dismounted reconnaissance operations; oversees maintenance and accountability of all MTOE equipment and assigned property.

My duties and responsibilities included Operating and maintaining weapons such as rifles, machine guns, mortars, and hand grenades.Evaluating terrain and recording topographical information.Operating and maintaining field communications equipment.Placing explosives and performing minesweeping activities on land.Participating in basic reconnaissance operations. just to name a few.

The Machine Gunner is responsible for the tactical employment of the 7.62 mm Medium Machine-Gun, the 50 cal., and 40mm Heavy Machine-Gun, in their support vehicle and on foot. Machine Gunners provide direct fire in support of the Infantry Rifle squads/platoons/companies.

Basic Training for the United States Army Infantrymen typically lasts 10 weeks and consists of four phases. During each phase, soldiers learn various skills and information related to the Army. These include weapons handling, rappelling, drill and ceremony, customs and curtsies as well as the Army’s core values. After graduating from basic training, candidates can continue with their career progression. Your duties may involve exposing threats, engaging enemy forces, assisting in reconnaissance, and mobilizing troops and weaponry as part of the ground combat force to protect the United States.
