This role has helped develop by communicational skills as getting the correct information to customers was essential to give them clear expectations. In addition to this other skills that I developed included: Marketing by going out to accounts and being an account manager and helping to aid any issues they might have. Also setting up new accounts by gaining leads. I also improved my management skills by aiding new starters into the role at one of the busiest non-airport branches in the country, Further to this had introduction to business management at looking at costs of a business where money comes in and goes out and how to control these as much as possible. A main role I was given was to keep a track and monitor the damage files at the Maidstone branch and report these to my area manager once a week.

In this role I was responsible for taking calls from customers and generating a bespoke quote for the client in a swift manner whilst assuring the best price possible. Further to this responsibilities included selling the policies to the the clients along with arranging and sending all of their policy documents following sale completion.

Modules taken in second year include: Mineral resources and exploration, Digital geoscience (GIS), Petrology, Structural Geology. Third year modules included: Oceans, climates and Paleoenvironments, Applied Geoinfomatics, Basin analysis and petroleum geology and Geoinformatics. Final year mapping project of Coniston, Lake District, UK was also included.

Over my time at Aureus mining I took part in 4 weeks of a re-logging exercise of core focusing mainly on alteration packages throughout the core. In addition to this, I was also a part of a team moving into the feasibility stage of mine planning by accompanying the team in SPT drilling. As well as this I contributed to the updating of the internal database.
