The Perlmutter Center for Legal Justice at Cardozo Law trains students and lawyers in the proper use of scientific evidence, focusing on the misuse of “junk science” in contributing to wrongful convictions. In addition the Center seeks justice for those individuals incarcerated with excessive sentences through parole work and clemency requests.

Specialized role assisting attorneys and clients with criminal matters related to digital forensics and surveillance technology. Wrote multiple practice guides advising attorneys on how to litigate different types of technology. Drafted briefs for appellate cases before the Appellate Division and New York Court of Appeals.

Represented clients on misdemeanor and felony criminal and collateral legal matters from arraignment through final disposition in Bronx Criminal and Supreme Court. Worked with a diverse client population to achieve the best possible outcome for the client. Designed and implemented training and mentorship programs for new attorneys.

Prepared bench memoranda and draft orders for counseled motions, asylum cases, and pro se motions and appeals for three-judge panels in the areas of immigration law, post-conviction relief, criminal appeals, employment law, prisoner’s rights, and appellate procedure and jurisdiction.

Wrote memoranda on numerous procedural and substantive criminal issues and conducted pre-sentencing interviews with clients and United States probation officers.

Helped prepare for trial a pattern-and-practice gender discrimination case. Researched and drafted memoranda on employment law related topics including class certification, statute of limitations and damages.
