About Benjamin Carter

Working with Thomas Machon in the Theoretical Physics group at the University of Bristol, I combine analytical and numerical techniques to investigate an array of Soft Matter systems. My current research incorporates a mixture of analytical, numerical and original computational algorithms, including the use of novel Monte Carlo techniques, in order to study the transition dynamics of Cholesteric (Chiral Nematic) Liquid Crystals.I also have experience of using Molecular Dynamics Simulation packages in order to create and examine various liquid and glassy systems.
