I am the founder of City Renewables, located in the heart of our nation's capital Washington, DC. We are a group of the passionate solar energy experts brought together with one common goal: FIGHTING CLIMATE CHANGE. We teach homeowners, businesses, and entrepreneurs how solar energy works and advise our clients on how make savvy financial decisions when investing in solar energy. My passion for renewable energy stems from being exposed to the negative effects of fossil fuels at an early age growing up within the Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma. My father, my hero and most trusted lawyer in my town, taught and quizzed me on social justice principles of the Constitution as early as I can remember. I used to tag-along with him to interview clients every chance I got, but I was always impacted the most hearing families tell their stories about raising children next to an active oil & gas operations. Specifically, I remember visiting the parents of a close classmate of mine who were absolutely terrified to learn methane gas was seeping into their house via the kitchen water faucet. I remember lighting a match under the faucet, nearly singing off our eyebrows. The harmful gas was seeping into their home as a result of an active oil rig a stone's throw away from their front porch. It was, and still is, hard to comprehend how a classmate of mine could grow up drinking water from that faucet, playing in the water sprinkler on a hot day, or watering their garden full of tomato plants with contaminated water. Tragically, I was traumatized to learn my father and client lost that legal battle in the courtroom. Unfortunately these stories are ever so common. Hearing countless heart wrenching stories of families impacted by fossil fuels, ultimately drove me to dedicate my life to the fight for clean energy.
