As a civil engineer, I have worked in all aspects of management and delivery on a broad range of construction and design projects. I have first-hand experience in all three roles of contractor, design engineer, and owner's project manager, giving me personal insight into the priorities and challenges from various perspectives.The projects I have enjoyed the most are the projects I was involved in from conception through final completion, and contained unique and interesting challenges such as extreme design parameters or challenging and unique construction techniques. Within the last 15 years my work experience has been principally on high-hazard dams, low-level outlets, spillways and headgates, turbine and generator equipment and systems, and marine inspection and construction work at varying depths. I also have first-hand experience in all aspects of FERC regulations for hydropower projects including dam safety monitoring and reporting, emergency action plans, five-year part 12D inspections and reports, potential failure modes analysis, and various technical studies and construction-related FERC concerns.
