In my time at Nationwide, I have been exposed to challenges which in turn have equipped me with a number of skills. For example, handling large transactions without error, diagnosing and dealing with complex customer issues, speaking with customers both face to face and on the phone, working closely within a team to achieve a collective goal.

As a games marshal, I would be responsible for large groups of customers and lead them through their day of activities. This could consist of refereeing both large scale games and smaller 5v5 competitive games of paintball where prize money would be on the line. This would include public speaking, health and safety briefing, on the spot decision making and high levels of awareness. When managing larger group of customers, I would lead a team of marshals to make the customers day be as smooth and enjoyable as possible for. In addition to having team leading skills, I would need the ability to sustain accurate time keeping skills so that my customers would do everything they were promised, get their food and also finish on time.

During my time at CTS, I learned and sharpened imperative skills such as attention to detail and how vital this is to maintain, due to the work being physically visible to the client. I would work as part of a team with a collective goal of completing a job efficiently and safely within a timeframe. This taught me the importance of teamwork and being able to work effectively under the pressure of deadlines. Additionally, whilst working at CTS my IT skills were noticed. I spent many days working in the office and I even pointed out shortcuts for the systems they were using and helped decrease the workload for my co-workers.
