I earned credit in a Directed Research course during the Fall term of '13, continued the project under an Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program scholarship for Spring '14. I used gold nanoparticles in an attempt to enhance photochemistry based on a unique design. The approach involved higher caliber fabrication techniques, including CVD and acid cleaning. In Spring 2015, I changed to a lab under Prof. Vivian Ferry and worked on cleaning silicon for high-fidelity quantum dot deposition, using a high quality optical microscope to evaluate the process.
