Hi, I am Ben Dickerson and I was born in Champaign, IL in 2003. My childhood included spending time in both Illinois and Southern California. In high school, I worked with customers at Harvest Market, and was named employee of the month for my department at 16 years old. I later worked at the Champaign Park District as an arborist.Following high school, I played collegiate baseball at Kankakee Community College as a pitcher in 2021-22, prior to transferring in 2022-23 to Danville Area Community College. All four semesters of junior college included Honor Roll and Dean’s List Academic success, including being named a member of the 2023 NJCAA Academic All-American team for student-athlete success. Additionally, I worked in the distribution center at Horizon Hobby, and coached baseball as the assistant coach of the Champaign Sky Sox.Currently, I am a private pilot(ASEL) working towards a Commercial Pilot Certificate at Southern Illinois University. In addition to flight training, I am majoring in Aviation Management and expect to graduate with a Bachelor’s of Science in Aviation Management from Southern Illinois University’s nationally celebrated aviation program. I am proud to be a Dean's Scholarship recipient at SIU and a perennial dean's list student.
