From about the earliest point in my life, I can remember I have always loved challenging situations and complex problems and trying my best to understand and complete them. Through just about every stage in my life, I have tried to find something that will challenge me and keep my mental gears turning. Whether it was the beginnings of my technology interest as a child understanding how Windows 98 functioned and then completely disassembling and reassembling that same computer to try to understand what makes that thing able to complete those tasks I was seeing on the screen, to taking my first job with an expanding company knowing that I was going to be only one of the two fluent English speaking employees and that I would have to learn everything and conduct normal daily tasks in Spanish (my second language), challenges are something that I like to keep available in my daily life. When looking for what career path I wanted to pursue in college I knew it was going to need to be something that would satisfy that need for challenge while also being something that I would enjoy, and for that reason I chose Computer Engineering Technology and then later added Spanish to further challenge myself. This choice definitely satisfied that need for challenge from studying different facets of Computers and technology such as C, C++, programming robots and computer architecture, to finding a new interest in language and literature and being able to study that in Chile.My first job after college was with an automation integrator based in Spain. This company gave me the opportunity to practice my Spanish by translating for colleagues and customers and to grow as an engineer by assisting and leading full integrations throughout the United States and in Spain.My current employment is with Siemens Healthineers. Here I have been able to gain extensive experience in validation practices in an FDA and ISO regulated facility. I have also lead multiple different scrap reduction, retrofittings and equipment upgrades while supporting the line for daily issues.The essence of any field of engineering is challenge and for that I have chosen this path and I am grateful that I will never have that feeling of stagnation and that I can keep overcoming challenges.
