I now maintain the same responsibilities as before but now handle other administrative aspects of the scribing role in the Emergency Department.

In this role I work alongside Physicians and PAs in the Emergency Department updating patient charts throughout the course of the patient’s stay. This includes importing lab and imaging results, writing procedure notes, documenting physician calls and documenting critical patient information. This job requires organization, a strong base in anatomy and medical terminology, interpersonal skills, writing skills, and time management.

As a Resident Assistant, I live and work inside a dormitory to cultivate an inclusive environment for all residents who live on campus at GCU. I work closely with two co-RAs and building staff to plan events for the residents of our building, encouraging these residents to be involved in both their building and with the campus as a whole. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, administrative efficiency, time management, strong communication skills and exemplary leadership. Resident Assistants are expected to know and uphold the GCU handbook, and are trained in incident response.
