Severed as the liaison between IDHS and the counties that make up Districts Five and Six. I provided technical support to counties to help them enhance their emergency management programs, and was among the first to respond (at the request of the local EMA) to local disasters from the State.

I maintained situational awareness for the Indiana Department of Homeland Security by monitoring the weather and media sources for breaking news. I also tracked our units out in field, took phone calls that came into the state emergency operations center, and worked in the emergency operations center during disaster activations. Some disasters and special events I worked include: Ice Storm of 2011, National Level Exercise 2011,Super Bowl XLVI, March 2012 Tornadoes (Henryville,IN), Blizzard of 2012.

I served the people of Owen County Indiana during all the phases (i.e. mitigation, preparedness, response, recovery) of disaster and emergency management. I worked on the on the county's Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan and assisted in the day-to-day operations of the office.

I forecasted for the Ball State University community, tutored and explained meteorological concepts to underclassmen, and answered weather inquires from the public. Also I assisted in maintaining and installing lab equipment.

My primary responsibilities as a building manager were to setup for meetings, setup audio visual equipment, provide the building with basic security, and ensure the building is presentable for guests. As I gained experience, I was given the opportunity to work in more administrative roles such as hiring and training new building managers, supervising other managers, and creating work schedules.

I provided basic building maintenance, and completed various other as assigned duties.
