I am a first-year PhD student at Vanderbilt University studying mechanical engineering. I work in the welding automation laboratory and we focus on friction stir welding processes. I am a teaching assistant for the mechanical engineering design synthesis course.I started my collegiate career at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. I was a 3+2 major in mathematics and mechanical engineering. I was a tutor in two subjects: mathematics and chemistry, and played two varsity sports: golf and volleyball. I was a head athletic manager in the athletics department at Saint Vincent. I then transferred to the University of Pittsburgh for the last two years of my program. I was in residence life for four of my five years as an undergraduate student. I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with Magna Cum Laude honors and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. Having completed my program, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics from Saint Vincent College.
