I am a first class degree holder with a background in physics.During my studies I gained some experience of coding in C++, completing various undergraduate modules. As a postgraduate student I developed my own program in Fortran for solving a specific maths/physics problem regarding plasma physics, and gained some experience of MPI.More recently, I have been working in education in a diverse range of settings. My time in education has spanned around 6 years in total, with the last 4 being in-post in my role at King Edwin School.My positions have covered a large part of the alternative education and specialist sector. This has included a pupil referral unit, a secure children's home and an independent specialist school.During my time in education I have developed some strong core/transferable skills around planning, working under pressure, problem solving, showing initiative, working effectively in a team, and communicating effectively with people from a wide variety of backgrounds. I have been through multiple successful Ofsted inspections, and have seen King Edwin grow to become good with outstanding features. Being a small school, I feel privileged to have been an important part of that process.A strong desire to return to my roots in a more technical role brought me to KPMG. After joining the KPMG graduate scheme as part of the 2022 intake, I trained as a full-stack web developer as part of an intensive 14 week bootcamp with Northcoders. After graduating, I spent my first few months developing an internal cloud-based document management tool using Appian, the low-code platform. Following this I transitioned into Cloud, which is where I am currently based. I work as part of an infrastructure / project management team, delivering various apps to clients through managed cloud infrastructure solutions. The core technical skills I have developed in performing this role include (but are not limited to) the following:* building and managing CI/CD pipelines through Github Actions and ADO.* working with Github apps to facilitate more granular permissions in Github. * creating and managing cloud resources through Terraform and ARM templates.* building custom scripts (Bash, Python, Javascript) to support client specific needs.* working with a variety of technologies across Azure and AWS. * constantly striving to introduce automation into processes. * utilising tools like Graph API, Kubectl and various CLIs to troubleshoot issues and achieve solutions for clients. * leading project delivery for small-medium sized projects.
